Marcelo Junior

I’m 25 and from Maranhão, in the north-east of Brazil. I now live in São Paulo, where I work as a software engineer at Soulloop.

I studied Information Systems at UNIBALSAS from 2018 to 2022. Along the way I started in IT support, until I moved into development.

I have spent five years building systems, websites and apps. Before writing code, I try to understand what the people using it actually need, and solve that in the simplest way that works.

I like solving problems, whatever kind they are, especially the ones that make me go deep into a subject and need research and analysis before the first line of code.

I work well in a team and I enjoy working that way. I also know UI and UX, which helps me think about the interface together with the code.

Outside work, I build my own projects to sharpen my experience. More recently I have been studying artificial intelligence, mainly how LLMs work, since it is an area that is changing how work gets done across the industry.
